Birmingham Mommy Makeover –

Posted February 12, 2013 in Birmingham Mommy makeover, Mommy Makeover

Have you heard the term “mommy makeover”?  You may be thinking it is a new type of plastic surgery to help woman who have had children get back  the body they had before pregnancy.  The term does refer to getting back to your pre-pregnancy body but it is not necessarily a new type of plastic surgery.  A “mommy makeover” consists of a number of procedures done at the same time in order to address the changes to a woman’s body after having children.  Listed below are procedures a “mommy makeover” might include:

Breast:

Breast Augmentation and/or  Breast Lift

A breast augmentation will increase the size of your breast by using implants.  After child birth you may need more than just a breast augmentation.  If you have sagging skin, you may need a breast lift to lift and change the shape of your breast.   See Birmingham Breast Augmentation and Birmingham Breast Lift for more information on these  procedures.

Abdominal Area:

Tummy Tuck and/or Liposuction

For a lot of woman, diet and exercise alone are not enough to get back your pre- pregnancy tummy.  Liposuction will help with getting rid of excess fat in the tummy area but it will not help with the sagging skin.  A tummy tuck will help remove the excess skin and repair the abdominal muscles, this will give you a tighter and thinner appearance.  See Birmingham Liposuction and Birmingham Tummy Tuck for more information on these procedures.

Lower Body:

Liposuction and/or  Lower Body Lift

After child birth, many woman have changes to their lower body shape that they can’t change with just diet and exercise.  Liposuction can help with removing the fat but again, it won’t help with the sagging of skin.  To remove sagging skin from the thighs, hips or buttocks, a lower body lift may be the procedure that is needed.  See Birmingham Liposuction and Birmingham Lower Body Lift for more information on these procedures.
