We Spend Time with You
During your initial consultation, Dr. Cohn spends as much time as is needed discussing your concerns and desires. A second consultation is typically scheduled before the surgery date. At that appointment, Dr. Cohn and you will discuss any further questions you have about the details of the surgical procedure. Dr. Cohn takes a comprehensive approach to how he treats his patients, and all surgical procedures are individualized for each patient to address their specific needs and goals. Patient education and involvement during the decision-making process is a priority and strength of his practice philosophy.
Your Safety is Our Highest Priority
We choose to perform surgeries in accredited hospital settings with Board Certified Anesthesiologists and experienced hospital personnel to ensure a complete focus on surgical safety and surgical resources. Although some surgeons operate out of their own in-office surgical suites, we make the conscious decision to work out of a hospital in order to ensure that any rare, unanticipated events can be addressed promptly, efficiently, and effectively. Dr. Cohn has operating privileges at many of the hospitals in the Birmingham and surrounding area. Click here for a complete hospital affiliation listing.
For your convenience we accept cash, check and most major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and Discover). Please check with your specific insurance carrier for co-pay and deductible requirements and “out of network” benefits. If Dr. Cohn does not show up on your plan, our office will gladly work with your insurance company so that you can be treated by Dr. Cohn.
For our elective cosmetic procedures, Dr. Cohn participates with CosmetAssure, a program that is exclusively available to active and candidate members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Complications from cosmetic procedures are rare, but when they do occur, most traditional insurance companies will not cover the cost of the complications, even if it is considered medically necessary. For no additional cost to the patient, CosmetAssure is in place to protect you financially. Visit their websiste, at www.cosmetassure.com, for the details about the covered procedures, covered complications, and full benefit information.
Cosmetic Surgery Consultation
Dr. Cohn has a “no charge” policy for cosmetic surgery consultations. The consultation is viewed as an essential time for you to meet with Dr. Cohn to discuss your health issues, your desired procedure and results and to determine if you are a “good candidate” for cosmetic surgical and/or non-surgical procedures.
There are several options to finance cosmetic surgery. Dr. Cohn accepts most major credit cards, as well as participates with Care Credit, a health care financing program. With low monthly minimum payments, no up-front costs, no pre-payment penalties, and no annual fees, this program makes cosmetic surgery more affordable. Approval can be performed during your office visit or via their website at www.carecredit.com.
