Have you ever wondered if there is a “right” age to have a specific cosmetic procedure so you age with grace?

Below is a cosmetic procedure timeline to guide you through the aging process with grace.  As always, you should seek the advice of a board certified plastic surgeon to determine if this is the right time for the cosmetic procedure you desire.

Teen’s-20’s:

This is the time to move beyond simply washing your face.  This is a great time to add facials, and laser hair removal.  For some, this is the right time to have rhinoplasty or nose reshaping, or a breast reduction.  You may also be ready for some filler to plump skin indentions or to create lip fullness.

30’s-late 40’s:

This is a good time to add broadband light laser treatments for treating dark spots, acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, and chemical peels to your facial regimen.  Injectables like botox and fillers will also keep your face looking young.  Many women opt for one or more of the procedures that make up a “mommy makeover”.  A “mommy makeover” consists of liposuction with a tummy tuck also known as abdominoplasty, along with a breast lift or breast augmentation.

Late 40’s-50’s:

Now is the time to begin thinking about a brow lift and/or eyelid surgery.  Also, the early 50’s, is the perfect time to think about having a face lift so you end up with a long-lasting, natural appearance.   Maybe your not ready for a full face lift. You might consider a neck lift to tighten the loosening skin and possibly a forehead lift.  Make sure to maintain or adjust your facial care regimen according to your skins needs.

60’s & beyond:

This is the age to tweak a previous eye or face lift.  It could also be the first time you are considering a face lift.  As stated before, continue your facial care regimen.

We hope this guide will help when considering when and if cosmetic surgery is right for you.  Keep in mind the earlier you begin the more youthful and natural your results will look.
