1. Limit Contact With Your Nose

After your procedure, your nose is going to be very sore and swollen. There may also be some bruising. Avoid touching your nose or allowing anything to come in contact with it to minimize the amount of irritation, swelling and bruising that you experience. Be extremely careful when putting on clothes to prevent accidental contact. If you wear glasses, inform your doctor prior to going home. 2. Watch the Food You Eat

Some foods require you to chew harder and longer than others. This can aggravate the muscles immediately surrounding your nose and increase the amount of swelling and bruising that is present. During the first few weeks after your rhinoplasty in Birmingham procedure, eat soft foods and foods that don’t require you to chew too much.

3. Don’t Blow Your Nose

4. Avoid Direct Exposure to Sun

After your procedure, your nose will be extremely sensitive for a few weeks. Avoid going in the sun if possible. If you cannot avoid the sun, lightly apply some sunscreen after your surgeon has given you the okay to do so. In the meantime, wear hats, go outside when the sun is not at its highest or carry an umbrella.
